Purple Crush

Not long ago I was at the Mexico City airport and ran into a small The Body Shop. I picked a few items only to get home and realize that one of the lipsticks that I purchased was placed wrongly in the counter, I ended up with a super pearlescent purple that wouldn’t get much of a daily use. Solution: a edgy and dramatic look for my blog, of course.  

No hace mucho estuve en el aeropuerto de la cd. de México y me topé con un pequeño The Body Shop. Me traje algunas cosas a casa sólo para darme cuenta de que uno de los labiales que compré había estado mal ubicado en el mostrador, acabé con un morado súper aperlado que no tendría un uso de diario. La solución: un look inquieto y dramático para el blog, obvio.

Being the lipstick the main inspiration, I didn’t want to overwhelm the rest of the face. But then I though «it’s makeup, duh» so I went along with more sparkle in the eyes. Even though I didn’t apply bold colors to the eye makeup, the elongated shape and cut crease give enough edge to the look. Cool tones clicked perfectly with the pearl finish on the lips. I think this can be wearable with another lip color and by keeping the cut crease just on the outer edges. 

Como el labial era la inspiración principal, no quería abrumarlo con el resto de la cara. Pero luego pensé «es maquillaje, dah» así que fui a agregarle más brillo a los ojos. A pesar de que no le metí colores intensos al maquillaje en los ojos, la forma alargada y el efecto cut crease le dan suficiente drama al look. Los tonos fríos encajaron perfectamente con el acabado aperlado del labial. Creo que esto podría ser más usable con otro color de labios y manteniendo la cut crease en el área exterior.

– MAC Fluidline Gel Liner in Blacktrack. 
– Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara.
