Of course I wouldn’t go past the opportunity to do something different by this time of the month. In México we don’t celebrate Halloween as big as in other parts of the world (like USA) but we still throw parties and themed clubbing nights. I thought of a little way to improvise a costume that is really easy and you only use your normal makeup, so it’s also budget friendly.
I am by no means an expert on SFX makeup; for me, the most practical way to create a Halloween look is using stuff that I already own with my poor skills, everyday makeup and a wig. I didn’t wear the wig for these pictures (so silly of me) but it’s basically really black long hair with a fringe. Maybe I’ll wear it for another post?
I didn’t even care much about imperfections because I used a much lighter concealer as a base and it covered really well (obviously). I used red lip liner slightly on the lids to give them a bruised appearance, very subtle. Then I went over it with purple, black, grey, any type of matte shade that I could find, really. I contoured with the grey shade mixed a little bit with the purple one and skipped blush because the last thing I wanted was to bring life to my face. The concealer base dried out my lips and gave them an appearance of decay, to compliment that, I applied black eyeshadow to the inner parts of the lips as if I was starting to rot from within, I also did that to my nostrils very lightly.

I really like it & it sounds so simple that anyone could recreate it without going out and buying all these special things like a lot of other halloween looks. Halloween isn't big over here in Australia either. A lot of people really don't like it. Your skills arn't poor btw! Your amazing at makeup!

Thank you dear! I used Blackout, Foxy, and a little of Tease from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, Shadowy Lady and Omega from MAC, and a few others from the 36 Smokey Eye Palette from Coastal Scents like the grey and red eyeshadows basically. For my base I used the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20 and only powdered a tiny bit with Foxy, for my brows I used the black and grey eyeshadows only in the inner parts and just a little of mascara without curling my lashes 🙂 X
